Savannah Made Me Notice People
Savannah has a creativity running through it that's hard to ignore. SCAD changes the energy of a city — and quietly makes you think about your own.

One of the things that surprised me most about Savannah had nothing to do with the architecture or the history.
It was the people.
There’s an individuality there you don’t always see — in how people dress, how they carry themselves, how they present who they are. It didn’t feel forced or performative. Just… natural. Like people had figured out what worked for them and leaned into it.
You notice it without trying to.
At first, I couldn’t quite place why.
And then I realized Savannah College of Art and Design is right there in the city.
After that, it all made sense.
There’s this underlying current of creativity running through everything. Not just in galleries or obvious spaces, but in everyday life — in the way people show up, the details they pay attention to, the way the city feels lived in.
Coming from a marketing background, it was hard not to see it through that lens.
You start noticing how people “brand” themselves — intentionally or not. The choices they make visually. The confidence in it. The clarity.
And if I’m being honest, it made me pause for a second.
Not in a negative way — just one of those quiet check-ins with yourself.
Like, where am I in this?
I’m good at what I do. I know that.
But being around people who are so immersed in creativity — with tools, skills, perspectives that feel really dialed in — it makes you think about how much further you could go if you wanted to.
Savannah didn’t just feel artistic.
It made creativity feel… active.
Like something you can keep pushing, keep refining, keep stepping further into.
If you choose to.
